There is a LOT of crap out there, including stuff from people I normally like (Chris Rock, Bill Burr, Kevin James). But this is s ome of the best and most creative standup I’ve seen in a while. I really enjoy good anecdotes, puns, and traditional observational standup, and in this first one, Neal Brennan does all three (hence the name). Literally going from mic to mic several times in the show.
I had never heard of this guy until he joined Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians in Cars this season, which to date is still one of the best episodes ever. He’s the co-creator of Chappelle’s Show and co-wrote Half Baked, so the guy has been around a while. Such an excellent mind and great delivery. Thoroughly entertaining all around.
Another highly recommended couple of bits are Patton Oswalt’s first big special since his wife died, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
And one of my longtime favorites, Mike Birbiglia
, does

My friend from college has a 15-minute Netflix comedy spot debuting in August. Josh Johnson -- very funny guy, check him out!

I like comedians and stand up shows but most of our British ones I’ve heard their material before, the rest I don’t like and most American ones swear for the sheer hell of swearing.
I don’t mind swearing, often it adds to the whole piece but when it’s swearing for swearing sake it’s just pathetic and unnecessary.
I’m watching ‘Iliza Elder Millenial’. She’s good, but when she does her ‘goat noises’, it can be annoying but otherwise, funny.

Very lazy. You need to check out the Mike Birbiglia one — he’s pretty clean,
it’s mostly funny takes on
anecdotal stories, and he’s so hilariously dry and self-deprecating, he reminds me of a younger Ricky Gervais (before he got ultra-famous)

Added, thanks!

I’ll have a look.
I find Ricky Gervais, super annoying and generally not funny at all.

Same here, at least today. But I can’t tell how much of it is him vs how much of it is the years of fame and money that has altered him... but he’s still a very
bright comical mind.

Oh, and if you’re up on your Cellar Crowd (Burr, Robinson, Vos, etc) and know of some of the banter from old O&A days you have got to listen to Ben Bailey’s set at the Patrice roast. No joke it’s probably the best roast performance I can think of, and that’s including Giraldo’s awesome sets.

Ben Bailey and Greg Giraldo are both among my favorites, I’ll check that out, too.

I think Nate Bargatze and Bert Kreischer are hilarious right now.

I’ve heard some of his stuff on Comedy Central Radio, it’s pretty funny.

I have to say, Kevin Hart’s
What Now?
is fucking hilarious - if you fast forward past the fake movie opening with Halle Berry. His special,
Let Me Explain
, is not that good, but watchable. Every Jim Jeffries one I’ve seen has been super funny as well.
I just added the ones you mentioned to my list. Wife and I love finding good stand up.

I just watched
Elder Millenial
with my wife. She thought it was hilarious, I thought it was meh. The middle 4/5 of it I just sat there waiting for something funny. Also, while she’s good at voices/noises, I guess
, I found them mostly irritating and unnecessary to the jokes.

There are parts that are really good.
I love how she points out the hypocrisy of how genders see each other.
The goat noise she did really early on, then started doing some other noise then peacock noises. Not as much as past specials or as irritating.
Probably not her funniest special.

Not compared to John Pinette, who is also hilarious, RIP

We watched her others as well, she’s funny for sure, that special just didn’t register with me - for the most part.

I forgot to mention in my earlier reply - Tig Notaro. For my my money, one of the funniest comedians out there. Very flat, deadpan comedy but fucking funny. There was a bit on Conan a few years ago where she just pushed a stool around without saying anything
and it was amazing.

She’s done better.
